Hotel rooms, food and drinks are all roughly the same price as Pattaya and a darn site cheaper than Bangkok. “I went there ten years ago and didn’t like it.” Well it’s changed! Phuket has grown up, and it’s grown wild and exciting. “The tuk tuks and jet ski men rip you off” How many jet skis were you thinking of hiring anyway? And the average tourist is around 30 here, they come looking for a great holiday. There’s so much more than just the boys, but of course there are the boys, in droves!

There’s plenty to do in the day time, from riding an elephant to parasailing, from snorkelling to playing golf. You can paddle a canoe in a hidden cave or you can take a Thai cookery course. Of course you can just laze away on the tropical beaches. Then when the sun goes down it’s party central, or a place for quiet romantic dinners. You set the pace.
