Pern’s Mediterranean Restaurant – Huay Kaew Road

UPDATE 01/04/13 Pern’s Restaurant in Chiang Mai is closed for April, reopening on 2nd May. We have heard via Gay in Chiang Mai news from the owner, Brian that “as well as taking a spring break we will be conducting a major re-refurbishment including a new bar with extra seating and a new menu with plenty of surprises”. He went on to say, “every one is welcome to come and see the new venue at our opening event on 2nd May starting 5p.m.” Maybe see you there?

Formerly known as Soupasteak, Pern’s Mediterranean Restaurant has been open just over a year. It’s moved up-market from the previous incarnation and now is a great Bistro type place. Not specifically gay, it’s frequented by many of the crowd. It also incorporates the former Darling Wine Bar.

The combination of Pern’s Mediterranean Restaurant and Wine bar in the same location brings the benefit of a cocktail bar for that pre-dinner aperitif, an excellent choice of wines as well as after dinner liqueurs. Run by Pong and Brian, it’s worth visiting.
