C U Bar

Now moved out of “Sleaze Alley” and opened in the strip of bar/restaurant units adjacent to the old alley. If coming from Loi Kroh road along Thapae soi 1 the bars are on the left at the end of the Night Bazaar parking lot. Secrets is at the end of the row with CU Bar in the middle.

G Star – Chottana Road, Chang Puek

g-star-chiangmaiLocated in Chang Puek district, just of Chottana Road, G-Star will be a great addition to Chiang Mai’s main gay district and should attract even more young gay Thais to the area.

The new venue looks like it’s going to be really smart with some great guys working there too. They’ve been working flat out to get the venue ready for tonight’s opening. Khun Note and the boys from Radchada will be there. Go Check it out!

Garden Bar – Soi Viangbua, Chotana Road, Chang Phuak

The cornerstone of the lush Lotus gardens is the Garden Bar, which is located adjacent to the Lotus Hotel. The Garden Bar offers drinks at reasonable prices in a relaxing atmosphere. You can sit around the bar, enjoying the company of other patrons, or retreat with a special friend to more intimate seating.

Food service is available, both Western and Lebanese dishes (as the owner comes from there). It is popular with expats and Tai Yai boys. They currently hold a monthly quiz at the bar.

Kampangmuang Gallery – Kampangdin Road

Located on Kampangdin Rd opposite the Imperial Mae Ping Hotel Kampangmuang Gallery is an interesting combination of art gallery and pub. It is very spacious with seating just off the street at the cocktail bar and in the garden beside it as well as in the art gallery itself and even more seating upstairs with a view over looking the garden.

Metro Bar – Soi Viangbua, Chotana Rd, Chang Phuak

Metro Bar & Café has an open and relaxed atmosphere and offers a comfortable and friendly environment to all who visit us here in Chiang Mai. The management and staff welcome people from both Thailand and all over the world to join us at Metro Bar & Café where we are open from 10am until Midnight, sometimes later, 6 days a week (closed on Tuesdays)

Metro Bar & Café is now a face to face Tourist Centre and they really enjoy giving visitors to Chiang Mai a run-down on this wonderful city whilst they enjoy a coffee or a drink. They have a real understanding of the Gay scene here , which can be quite different from other areas in Thailand and are open to any questions visitors may need answers too.

One 2 Come Bar – Changklan Road

Partners Mark and Tong have just told us about their new venture, re-opening the bar at One-2-Come Massage They are running it separately from the massage and look forward to welcoming everyone for a drink at their well stocked bar.

One-2-Come is one of Chiang Mai’s longest established and best know massage shops. Set in a stand alone cottage style building in a picturesque garden location on a quiet and discreet soi it has built a good reputation over the years. It is located on the small soi running between Chang Klan Road (near Park Hotel) and the Mengrai Bridge (By the Holiday Inn).

Radchada Cafe – 15 Thewarit Road, Chang Phuak

Cafe run by our good friends who help us set up this website. It offers great snacks, and a friendly atmosphere.

Go along and enjoy coffee, tea, drinks and light snacks in their boutique garden Café. Radchada Garden Café is located in the grounds of a beautiful Lanna style teak wood mansion within tranquil surroundings in the North West suburbs of Chiang Mai city, Northern Thailand.

A menu of quality international delights includes various sandwiches, pasta dishes, salads, baked potatoes with a variety of toppings and Thai favourites such as fried rice and curries. An all-day breakfast is available along with croissants, fresh fruit, pastries and cakes. To complement the standard fare, different special dishes is offered daily.

To cap it all, they are now getting quite a reputation as “the place to be” in the evenings, with their bar doing roaring trade.

UPDATE 01/05/12 The boys at Radchada Garden Café, Chiang Mai have announced that, by popular demand, from 1st May 2012 they will be opening in the evenings as well as daytime. The new opening hours 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. A full service bar is available with Happy hour from 5 – 7 p.m. The full food menu will be available in the evenings too (kitchen closes at 9.30 p.m.), they also told us some new additions to the menu will be announced very soon.

Radchada Garden Café is a great place to enjoy a quiet evening drink in a quiet, music free environment. Their food speciality is thin crust Pizza, so this is a great new evening Pizza option for Chiang Mai.

RAM + Bar – River Ping Area

ram-newRAM Bar opened originally as  coffee shop, then became a bar as well, and now – finding this the most popular option, they are just a bar. It does VERY well. They have a great crowd goes there and are very proactive in pushing themselves.

Check out the “High Heels weekends”, if you really want some fun, or one of their special parties. But whatever you do, check it out!!!!

Sabai Dee – Santitham Road, Chang Phuak

Restaurant with bar adjacent to Santitham Guest House at junction with Tewan Road. Excellent Thai food. Tastefully decorated in a modern Lanna style with a large area to sit and eat on the floor above a large fish tank.

See Man Pub – Canal Road

An interesting new venue opened in Chiang Mai recently. See man pub is a new seemingly gay friendly, or maybe completely gay venue close to the Nimannaheminda Road area of town.

Has a good show with Indian music and many handsome dancing boys .

Soho – Huay Kaew Road, Chang Phuak

Soho Bar is one of Chiang Mai’s most sophisticated gay-friendly venues. You can socialise here in pleasant convivial surroundings, in either the street-side bar or in the tastefully-decorated and more relaxed interior lounge bar. Music is played at a volume which doesn’t intrude on conversation, but can be cranked up when the crowd gets going. The bar sits on the prime location of Huay Kaew Road, almost directly opposite the Kad Suan Kaew Shopping Complex.  A popular venue with Chiang Mai’s expatriates, Soho is a friendly and fun bar perfect for meeting new friends or simply sitting back and indulging in fine conversation and wine.

They also have a guest suite upstairs.

Shauna and Krathai from Soho Bar have announced their newest venture, the Soho Restaurant, offering New Orleans Cuisine will be open from from noon until 7: PM starting tomorrow (Saturday 8 October). Since taking over Soho in August, Shauna and Krathai have been making a number of changes of which this is the latest, and biggest.
The menu includes: Fried Seafood Platter, Chicken Fricassee, Red Beans And Rice, Braised pork roast, Seafood Gumbo and Southern Fried Pork Chops all freshly cooked to order in an authentic New Orleans style. it sounds like a great new food option for this part of town, go along and give it a try. We wish them well with this new addition.

Spirit House – Viangbua Road, Chang Phuak

Located 200M past the Garden Bar/Adams Apple across from Viangbua Mansion. It is a bar and restaurant serving Western and Thai food, also sells antiques. As well as the baroquese interior bar and shop areas, Spirit House has a beautiful lanna style garden around an ancient Chedi with separate pagodas for private out door dining

Yokka Dok – Ratchamanka Road

Located in the heart of Chiang Mai, Yokka Dok is the perfect venue to relax and enjoy yourself. With scrumptious cocktails, delicious food and comfortable beds you couldn’t ask for more.
